Paralleling Shawl The Crafty Jackalope

Today the Paralleling Shawl pattern went live on the site!  It was so much fun to design and I used my new favorite design technique "Section-Knitting:" each section of the pattern has distinct steps to follow, leading the way to a finished shawl!  This way of organizing the pattern, I find, keeps you engaged and interested for the entire project!Paralleling Shawl The Crafty Jackalope

This shawl has an unusual construction: the middle triangle is worked first, then the side panels are picked up and knit, followed by an icord cast off around the entire perimeter.

A new fun knit!  This sample is made from Madelinetosh Pashmina (2 skeins) or about 575 yards/525 meters of sport or light DK weight yarn.  Colorway: Calligraphy.

This sample is made from Cashmere Co-op Snow fox.  An ethical blend of fox and cashmere.  This light DK weight yarn was amazing to work with; it was luxurious, soft and I highly recommend it!

The stitches are loose and a bit airy on both version which gives the shawl a nice drape and lots of movement!  You know I love pompoms... and I sure love tassels too!
